Did you know that 1 in 3 motorists can’t afford an unexpected car repair over $500 without going into debt? But what happens to the members of our community who are left without the transportation that they desperately need?
That’s where we come in. The Stranded Motorist Fund exists to help those members of our community who have safety concerns with their vehicles, but are unable to fix them. We’ve learned firsthand that more often than not, those who need their vehicles the most are at a higher risk of losing them. This includes victims of domestic violence, low-income or unhoused veterans, and single mothers.
Everyone deserves safe, reliable transportation, and that’s why we’re here.
We have the capacity to help our community members, creating wellness in our community as a whole.
SELF-SUSTAINABILITY
We provide our community members with tools to continue to succeed on their own.
SAFETY
Allowing our community members to travel and accomplish their goals safely.
Who We Are
The Stranded Motorist Fund was founded in 2020 to help people in our community who can’t afford to fix their cars. We started seeing an influx of vehicle owners who were unable to afford necessary safety repairs, and knew we needed to do something. We want to ensure that everyone who might need transportation has access to it.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that is a program of Onward! A Legacy Foundation, and in partnering with members of our community, we have helped countless families and individuals with keeping and caring for their cars.

How You Can Help
Since 2020, we have surpassed over $150,000 in community support. We have received a few grants and personal donations but this effort has largely been funded by Dan Adam, founder of Adam & Son Auto Repair.
Our goal is to maximize the impact we have in our community. To help us grow and increase the number of people we're able to help, donate today to support the Stranded Motorist Fund.
Do you have a vehicle you’d like to donate to the Stranded Motorist Fund? Regardless of its condition, it will create positive impact in our community.
